Although several Canadian provinces have announced plans to roll-back some or all COVID-19 restrictions currently in place, the Freedom Convoy protest is still in full swing. The ongoing protest on the US-Canada border has resulted in decreased production in automobile plants both in Canada and the US. While Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has ruled out military action against the protesters, the Joe Biden administration has urged Trudeau’s government to use its federal powers to bring an end to the protest, which has been going on for several weeks now. The protests are against COVID-19 vaccine mandates for truckers and other COVID-19-related restrictions in Canada.
