Five people were killed on Monday amid the chaos as hundreds tried to forcibly enter planes. It is not clear whether they were killed by gunfire or in the stampede. US forces had fired shots in the air to disperse the crowds.

Meanwhile, at least three people – who reportedly held on the wings of an American plane – fell to their deaths after the plane took off. In another tragic video, people can be seen chasing a US military aircraft on the runway, with some huddled on its wings as it is taxiing on the runway.
