Israel has cut off the water supply to the Gaza Strip as hostilities between the two sides continue, worsening the already severe humanitarian situation in the area.

Yoav Gallant, the Israeli defense minister, proclaimed a “complete siege” on the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, which is home to some 2.3 million people and is one of the world’s densely populated areas. A few of the methods include turning off the electricity and barring food and fuel from entering. This choice comes after the huge attack on Israel by Hamas, which has been called one of the biggest in decades.
Since June 2007, Israel has imposed its present embargo on the Gaza Strip, which is under occupation. Israel controls Gaza’s airspace, territorial waterways, and two of the three border crossing points; Egypt is in charge of the third crossing point.

In a video message, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said, “We are completely sieging Gaza… Everything is shut down: there is no food, water, electricity, or gas.
After a significant incursion by Hamas fighters into Israeli land on Saturday, Israel has recovered control over its towns, according to Daniel Hagari, the chief military spokesperson for Israel.
According to Hagari, Israeli tanks and drones are stationed near fence gaps to stop additional intrusions. He stated that 15 of the 24 border communities had already been evacuated and that the remaining communities would follow suit in the ensuing twenty-four hours.

Abdel-Latif al-Qanoua, a spokesperson for Hamas, told The Associated Press that their forces are still engaged in combat outside of Gaza and that they recently claimed to have taken more Israelis.
He stated the group’s goal of freeing all Palestinian detainees held by Israel while pointing out earlier instances of unfair exchange agreements in which Israel released huge numbers of detainees in exchange for single captives or even the remains of soldiers.
