House Select Committee, which is charged with investigating the January 6 storming of the Capitol, has released communication between former President Donald Trump’s White House and Fox News anchor Sean Hannity. The text messages are linked to the violent insurrection in Washington DC.
Hannity, who has been known to often support the policies of the former administration, was seen showing concern about Trump’s challenge to the election results of 2020. He was also seen throwing suggestions to Trump allies about the rally outside the United States Capitol.

The January 6 committee of the House of Representatives revealed that Hannity was majorly speaking to former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.
“Im very worried about the next 48 hours”, a text sent to Meadows read on the eve of the ‘Stop The Steal’ rally, which of scheduled for January 6. The texts were revealed in a letter released by the investigating committee.
“Pence pressure. WH counsel will leave”, another text from Hannity read on the same day, according to reports from NBC citing the letter.
Representatives Liz Cheney and Bennie Thompson– who have been heading the investigation– said in the letter that Hannity “had advance knowledge regarding President Trump’s and his legal team’s planning for January 6th.”

“It also appears that you were expressing concerns and providing advice to the President and certain White House staff regarding that planning. You also had relevant communications while the riot was underway, and in the days thereafter,” they said, NBC reported.
Hannity had previously criticised the violence that took place last January 6. But he’s also been sharply critical of the committee and its work, saying on the air December 13 after his texts were revealed: “We’ve been telling you that this is a waste of your time and money. They have a predetermined outcome.”
