When trying to urge President Joe Biden to move ahead during their Monday visit at Windsor Castle, King Charles appeared to temporarily run out of patience. Charles tried to urge Biden to stop talking as they were inspecting the Welsh Guards in the middle of a welcome ceremony, but Biden seemed unwilling to do so.

The Royal Guard is traditionally, and famously, forbidden from conversing with anyone but other members of the royal family or passing tourists.
Biden appeared too preoccupied with his conversation with a Welsh Guard to notice the King’s attempts to urge the American president forward while he was at Windsor Castle and speaking to the guardsman.
After that, an amused Charles motioned with his arms to continue the tour of the gardens, but Biden once more turned to the guard, leaving the King to chuckle to himself.

The King attempted to convince the president to move but was unsuccessful as he stood and continued to converse. After appearing to direct his anger at the security man, Charles left with the president, who has attempted to deny claims that he is hostile to the British.

The US president also erred by grasping Charle’s arm during their handshake and later placing his hand on Charle’s back as they circled the quadrangle. After the President’s brief meeting with Rishi Sunak in Downing Street, King Charles allowed Joe Biden to take the initiative when the two met at Windsor Castle. The 80-year-old US President, who had just spent 42 minutes in London with the Prime Minister, had come to speak with the King about climate change.

Before the two men discussed over climate change inside the Castle, the President, who is out to try to dispel prior claims that he is “anti-British,” was also treated to a rendition of the US national anthem.
Following a phone call earlier this year that Biden’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan regarded as being “incredibly warm,” the President met with the King today.
