Kim Kardashian has overcome another stumbling block on her path to becoming an attorney.

On Monday, the reality TV actress and entrepreneur announced that she had passed California’s first-year law students’ exam, a daylong examination required of prospective lawyers in the state who are not attending an established law school.

She wrote to her 70.7 million followers, “OMFGGGG I PASSED THE BABY BAR EXAM!!!!” and posted photographs of herself posing in an electric blue jumpsuit. “For anyone who doesn’t know my law school journey, know this wasn’t easy or handed to me,” she added.

After passing the examination, dubbed the ‘baby bar,’ Kardashian will be permitted to continue her legal studies and take the main bar exam.

She announced in 2019 that she was studying to be a lawyer through the Law Office study programme, which allows aspiring attorneys to train under the supervision of a practising lawyer or judge.

California is one of only a few states with such a programme, and it is the only one that has a baby bar.

The pass percentage for the exam Kardashian took on October 26 was not yet available, but only 21% of those who took it in June passed – less than half the rate for the state’s most recent regular bar exam.

The State Bar of California stated that the results of the baby bar were confidential and that it could not confirm that Kardashian had passed.

Kardashian, whose father Robert Kardashian was a member of OJ Simpson’s legal team during his 1995 murder trial, has previously stated that she wants to be a lawyer and work on criminal justice reform.

She is supervised by attorneys Erin Haney and Jessica Jackson, whom Kardashian thanked on Twitter for bringing her along to their court appearances.

Kardashian also revealed that she took the exam three times before passing it. As a result, she had one last chance: due to the COVID epidemic, California allowed anyone who failed the first-year law student exams three times.

Steve Calandrillo, the University of Washington law professor who tutored Kardashian on contracts via Zoom to prepare for the test, said, “I am so happy for her. She has worked so hard for two years now. It is not an easy exam.”
