Following the mid-season trailer and the the post-credits scene at the episode 4 %u2013 which teased the four new variants of Loki %u2013 we now have the new episode 5 trailer which has apparently revealed nine more potential variants of Loki that will appear in the show (seemingly in episode 6).

At the end of episode 4, “The Nexus Event,” the 2012 Loki variant was pruned and seemingly killed. However, the post-credits scene showed Loki had been transported to a ravaged New York City, where he encountered four other variants of himself, excluding Sylvie (female variant of Loki).

Seemingly shot in New York as we could see the ruined Avengers Tower, episode 4 revealed %u2013 Old Loki, Kid Loki, Boastful Loki, and Alligator/Crocodile Loki. In the short clip, we hears the Old Loki telling his 2012 counterpart to come with them.

While there’s great interest in seeing more of the initial four variants, audiences are also wondering how many different Lokis there will be. Based on the latest trailer released on Tuesday, there could be several.

Marvel released a new promo for Loki. The spot primarily deals with the amount of critical praise the show’s received over its run, recycling previous footage. However, it does include a brief glimpse of a shot with the 2012 Loki posing with what could be nine other variants.

Because the shot is presented out-of-context without any dialogue, it isn’t confirmed that these are indeed other Loki variants. However, that’s a relatively safe assumption to make, given a few of them are wearing headpieces punctuated by horns, similar to Loki’s traditional get-up.

Since Marvel is known for their secrecy, it’s difficult to say how that plot will unfold, but based on this single shot, the 2012 Loki appears to have rallied other variants to his cause. It’ll be fascinating to watch how it all plays out. A Loki season 2 is reportedly in the works, so perhaps these variants will lay the foundation for the show’s future.
