A video has emerged of a PTI supporter tackling Khan’s attacker, who likely had an automatic weapon with him, and thus saving numerous lives in the process:

The man who ended up saving a lot of lives was later revealed to be a youth worker for PTI called Ibtisam Hassan. He was hailed as a hero on social media for showing his bravery and presence of mind during the attack.

Hassan later spoke to the outlet The Nation and said that he would never allow to harm Khan. In a statement, Hassan narrated the incident to reporters: “The accused opened fire at the container. I was with the view that he [accused] was carrying an automatic pistol. When I trapped the accused, one person already received the bullet”.

The attack has already created a massive stir on social media while protests have broken out in several parts of Pakistan.

Khan himself called a senior of his party, Asad Umar, to the hospital and asked the latter to release a statement on his behalf. In the statement, the former PM said that he did have some information about the attack, and went on to blame Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
