Son Heung-min and Mohamed Salah have been named joint Premier League Golden Boot winners for the 2021-22 season.
The Tottenham striker entered the final day of the season in second place behind the Liverpool man, but two goals in a 5-0 win over Norwich City saw a late turnaround for the individual award.

With the Egyptian on the bench for the Reds, Son and his team had the potential to go goal-crazy against the league’s bottom and already relegated team.
That proved to be the case as Son scored the fourth and fifth goals of the day to secure Spurs’ place in the Champions League for next season.
Salah came off the substitute as Liverpool sought a winner against Wolves, and he found a way through for his 23rd goal of the season, levelling with Son and securing the first split award since 2018/19, when Salah, Sadio Mane, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all scored 22 to share a three-way tie.

Anfield dared to dream of an unprecedented quadruple and an incredible end to the Premier League season until a minor eruption erupted in the stadium’s corner in the 81st minute on Sunday. It was Wolves fans who broke the news of Manchester City’s late winner over Aston Villa and Liverpool’s agony.
“With all the things that happened I would have preferred them to be 5-0 up after 10 minutes to be honest,” a slumping Klopp stated.
With late goals from Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, Liverpool broke Wolves’ excellent second-half resistance.

Klopp’s team finished the season with the only unbeaten home record in the Premier League and a stunning 92 points. That would have been enough to win the league in 24 of the previous 29 seasons. It is the third-highest points total in Liverpool history, and the fourth when the 42-game 1978-79 season is converted to three points for a win.
