It seems like
Santa Claus has changed his usual chimney route for a firefighter ladder in the
era of Covid. In a heart-warming series of videos and pictures shared by the
Government of Peru, a Santa, accompanied by a firefighter is seen giving gifts
to kids at their windows. A few health workers also gathered outside to witness
the heart-warming gesture and did a fun dance. With Christmas music playing in
the background, families experienced joy and excitement during the challenging
times of recovering from the virus infection.
The event took
place in Lima, Peru where Santa Claus had gifts and presents for Covid-19
infected families and kids. The covid struck families were isolated in a
high-rise building known as the Village. The building compound was originally
made for the Pan American Games in Lima. The compound
is filled with patients, doctors, nurses, and other medical emergency staff.

Juan Oriundo,
director of the Pan American Village spoke to media persons on site and shared
the motive behind the noble gesture. Oriundo said that since there isn’t a
direct way to visit covid infected zones, this was an innovative solution to
spread happiness and excitement for Christmas season. He added that even if
some infected families will be unable to get back to their homes due to the
virus, they can enjoy Christmas this way.

Unlike the centuries-old Santa riding reindeer sleighs,
this modern Santa rode a fire engine’s cherry picker, also known as boom lift. Paul Suarez, who impersonated the adorable Santa Claus
said in a statement, “The most important thing is the love you get”.
He further added that hearing kids say that they love him, makes his job worth
it. He added that it may not seem important enough, but hearing a child say
that to a stranger is a very special thing to hear.
