At least six people were injured in New Zealand’s Auckland on Friday after an extremist stabbed them at supermarket. The police killed the attacker on the spot. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern called it an act of terror and said that she was sorry that it happened.

According to BBC, people are questioning why no action was taken against him before he injured six people- especially since he was under close surveillance.

“The reality is, that when you are surveilling someone on a 24/7 basis, it is not possible to be immediately next to them at all times. The staff intervened as quickly as they could and they prevented further injury in what was a terrifying situation,” said Police Commissioner Andrew Coster.
