Additionally, the two medal winners will be offered government jobs as well.

Following their victory at the Paralympics, PM Modi spoke to Manish Narwal & Singhraj Adhana, congratulating them for clinching Gold & Silver medals in shooting. Interestingly, Manish’s father was himself a wrestler and understood the importance of committing to a sport

The prime minister also took to Twitter to share the news and tweeted, “Glory from the Tokyo #Paralympics continues. Great accomplishment by the young and stupendously talented Manish Narwal. His winning the Gold Medal is a special moment for Indian sports. Congratulations to him. Best wishes for the coming times. #Praise4Para.”

“I always wanted to be a footballer as I loved outdoor sports. But due to my disability, I couldn’t play the game beyond the local club level. A close friend of my father told him to think about introducing me to shooting. My father took me to the TenX shooting academy in Ballabgarh, run by coach Rakesh Thakur. Had he not been there, I wouldn’t have excelled in the sport. I owe my success to him,” Manish told TOI.

Manish and Adana’s win took India’s medal tally to 15 with 3 gold medals at the Paralympics.
