Mysterious rings are appearing in the air above the map as the Pokemon Go Ultra Unlock Part 3 gets underway on Saturday, August 20. As well as the Ultra Unlock extra week teaser, these rings have also shown in the past on Pokemon Go Fest 2021’s last day. If you’re wondering what the rings in the sky in Pokemon Go are, they’re actually portals in space that a Pokemon has created.

Who is creating these rings?

As previously stated, the enigmatic rings in the sky are formed by a mythological Pokemon known as Hoopa, who has the power to alter space. This provides it the power to teleport objects in space by passing them through its hoop. Hoopa Unbound is an alternative version of Hoopa that has the potential to summon strong and legendary Pokemon. The fundamental notion of the rings in the sky in Pokemon Go is the introduction of new Pokemons into the game via Hoopa’s teleportation.

The rings are a non-playable object that the player cannot control or interact with, therefore their main use in the game is to give a tale for the introduction of new Pokemons. However, given that the rings are made by Hoopa, it is possible that the legendary Pokemon may be brought to the game soon. Because the Ultra Unlock event concludes on August 31, the rings may remain in the game until then.
