There was a silhouette of Furfrou, a Normal-type Pokemon originally seen in Pokemon X and Y, in the teaser image.

Furfrou is a Normal-type Pokemon with a poodle-like appearance. Furfrou has nine distinct “trims” in the main series games, which are special looks it gets when it visits a styling salon. Each of these cuts only lasts a few days and provides no benefit to gamers in terms of mechanics.

Furfrou’s presence was initially hinted at by a change in the loading screen in Pokemon Go last month. Furfrou is one of numerous Pokemon whose shadows create a terrifying creature in celebration of Halloween. We know that Pokemon Go developers put Furfrou’s multiple trims to the game and for that thanks to datamines, but it’s unclear whether Pokemon Go players will be able to modify Furfrou’s appearance or if players would have to capture Furfrou in the wild with the various trims. Several additional Pokemon in costume are also anticipated to arrive as part of the event.

It’s the Season of Mischief in Pokemon Go right now, a three-month season dedicated to the Mythical Pokemon Hoopa. By completing a limited-time Special Research event, players can earn a chance to meet Hoopa straight away. This year’s event, Psychic Spectacular, will take place in the game which features the debut of Inkay. Pokemon X and Y’s Phantump will also make its appearance in the game, as per the current loading screen.
