On the occasion of Pokemon’s 25th anniversary, the franchise announced the arrival of two new games – Brilliant Diamond and Shinning Pearl. These games are a 3D rendition of the 2006 Nintendo DS series. These new games will get a chibi-styled makeover and are coming for Nintendo Switch.
These new games are being directed by Junichi Masuda, the original director of Pearl and Diamond. However, there is a new person on the directorial board. ILCA’s Yuichi Ueda will also be directed the games this time with Masuda.

That is not all that is new. The games will be produced in ICLA.inc’s studio rather than the usual studio, Game Freak. These games are reportedly faithful remakes of the older versions.
Currently, Game Freak is also working on Pokemon Legends Arceus that is set in the same universe as Brilliant Diamond and Shinning Pearl. However, it will be set in a time different, giving the game a feudal-Japan aesthetic.
