Prince George made his first appearance at Wimbledon – a big day as Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios face off for the title. The 8-year-old joined countless members of the British royal family to attend Wimbledon over the years, including his mother Kate Middleton, who is a Wimbledon superfan.

Kate along with her husband Prince William surprised tennis fans as the family appeared in the Royal Box for Day 14 of the sporting event.

Prince George wore a smart suit and was seen making various facial expressions as he watched the game, while Kate and William looked on at their boy.

Just the previous day Kate had attended to see the women’s winner.

On Sunday, Kate sported a chic look in a navy blue and white frock by Alessandra Rich Chelsea Collar Dress. She completed her look with her drop sapphire earrings and a sapphire necklace.

William opted for a light blue shirt with his jacket.

Kate, who is an avid tennis player, is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club and likes to watch matches from the Royal Box.

This is the second appearance of Kate and William at Wimbledon together this year.

On Tuesday, they watched the men’s singles quarterfinal match between Novak Djokovic of Serbia and Jannik Sinner of Italy as well as the UK’s Cameron Norrie take on David Goffin of Belgium.

Meanwhile, Prince George, who is said to be a passionate tennis fan, enjoyed the match with his parents. He is also said to have taken a lesson with Roger Federer.

Federer in 2018 described George as a “cute boy” who had clearly taken his love for the sport from Kate. Federer played with the young prince back in 2019, when he visited the Cambridges at their Norfolk residence.

“I love to see that they’re into tennis or into sports,” he said at the time. “His mum has always enjoyed their tennis… I hope that he’ll still say the same in a few years’ time.”
