Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral is on Monday, September 19, following the death of England’s longest-serving monarch who spent 70 years on the throne. The coffin of the 96-year-old was lying in state for others to pay respect, and the funeral arrangements have long been detailed in Operation London Bridge

As per Wired, the queen’s funeral will be the most viewed broadcast of all time with 4.1 billion people – more than half the world’s population – forecasted to watch. 

When will the funeral take place?

The funeral will take place at 11 AM BST (British Summer Time), which is 3 AM PT, and for those in India, the time difference puts the event at 3:30 PM IST in the afternoon. 

Duties begin at 6:30 am BST, and the procession will start carrying the Queen’s coffin to Westminster Abbey around 10:44 AM BST (5:44 AM EST). For those in India, this translates to 11 AM and 3:14 PM, respectively. 

Where to watch the funeral?  

Depending on where the viewer is, there are several options to watch the state funeral.

The US 

Those in the US can see the funeral on NBC, CNN, ABC, and Fox News, The Sun reported. One needs to have a valid cable subscription or pay tv access to watch the funeral on these channels. 

India 

Those in India can see the funeral on BBC News and YouTube. Freeview is also expected to broadcast the Queen’s funeral. 

The UK 

Those in the United Kingdom can either watch the funeral on television screens or go for a more social viewing experience. 

The BBC, ITV, and Sky News will all show the Queen’s funeral, but viewers can also line up on the sidewalks of Westminster Abbey, where the funeral will take place.

Variety also reported that many movie theatres in the country will remain closed on that day so they can screen the funeral. Time Out magazine also noted that Hyde Park near Buckingham Palace will have a giant screen where the funeral can be seen. As per Mashable, sources have said that several parks across the country are expected to have a similar setup, though there are no concrete details of the same.

If viewers wish to tune into the funeral online, the BBC iPlayer in the UK and CNN website livestream are good options. C-Span is also expected to stream the funeral. YouTube live streams, announced and otherwise, are also go-to options for a global audience wishing to watch the monarch’s funeral online.
