Britain’s royal family, world leaders and the public mourned the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday, during her state funeral burial. The service ended with two minutes of silence observed across the United Kingdom, after which the attendees sang the national anthem, now titled “God Save the King.”

September 19, Monday, was declared a public holiday in honor of Elizabeth, who died September 8 — and hundreds of thousands of people descended on central London to witness history, Associated Press reported.

World leaders came on a bus

All world leaders attending the event arrived at the monarch’s funeral service on a bus, which was arranged by the British authorities. Similar buses were used to ferry invitees to Buckingham Palace a day earlier.

US President Joe Biden, however, was an exception. He arrived in his armored limousine nicknamed ‘The Beast’. US First Lady Jill Biden accompanied the president.

Spider on the coffin

People viewing Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral spotted a spider crawling on the floral decoration on the coffin. A video of the spider was shared on social media, and many called it the most famous spider in the world.

The flowers came from the gardens of Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Highgrove House — three royal residences in the United Kingdom.
