Ramadan, also known as Ramzaan in the Muslim lunar calendar, is the ninth month and is right around the corner, according to the Islamic calendar. Every year, Muslims around the world eagerly await Ramadan to raise their spiritual level and surrender to God. During this sacred month, there are several norms and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad that all Muslims are supposed to follow, including 29-30 days of fasting. Furthermore, it concludes with great celebrations and a feast known as Eid-ul-Fit.

RAMADAN 2022 DATES
Ramadan will begin on April 2, 2022, and will most likely end on May 1, 2022. The next day is Eid, a Muslim feast. These are, however, only the preliminary dates. It will be chosen as we come closer to the holy month, and it will be determined by the lunar cycle. Because Umrah—the trip to Mecca—is encouraged during the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims prefer to go during this month.

RAMADAN FASTING RITUAL
During the heavenly month of Ramadan, Muslims fast. They are not permitted to eat or drink after sunrise. Sehri is eaten early in the morning before the sun rises. They then proceed to the morning prayers known as Fajr. During the Iftar period, people break their fast after the sun has set. After Iftar, individuals attend the evening prayers known as Maghrib, which represent nightfall.
