Actor Rhea Chakraborty, who has been embroiled in controversy since last year after the death of her boyfriend and actor Sushant Singh Rajput, finally made a comeback on social media on Women’s Day. Rhea posted a picture on her Instagram handle to mark the International Women’s Day. She shared a picture holding onto the hand of her mother. 

She captioned it, “Happy Women’s Day to us .. Maa and me .. together forever … my strength, my faith, my fortitude – my Maa.” 

Rhea was recently spotted at Mumbai airport, wearing a shirt that had “Man Up” written over it.

On September 8, 2020, the ‘Jalebi’ actor was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), in a drugs case related to the Sushant’s death. She was granted bail after nearly a month in jail. Her brother Showik, who was also one of the accused, was arrested on September 4. He was denied bail many times and was finally released on December 2.

Last week, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) filed a chargesheet against 33 people, including Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, Agisilaos Demetriades who is brother of actor Arjun Rampal’s partner, and Kshitij Prasad, executive producer of Dharmatic Entertainment in an alleged drug case filed after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput last year.

Sushant’s father has accused Rhea of abetting his son’s suicide.
