Shahzada Dawood, 48, one of the richest men in Pakistan, along with his son, 19-year-old Suleman are among the five onboard the submersible which went missing after it set off to see the wreckage of the Titanic, 12,500 feet underwater, in the Atlantic Ocean.

In a press release, Engro said, “On Sunday, June 18, Mr. Shahzada Dawood, Vice Chairman of Engro Corporation Limited, along with his son, Suleman, embarked on a journey to visit the remnants of the Titanic in the Atlantic Ocean.” 

The vessel lost signal in the Atlantic Ocean, 370 miles off the coast of Newfoundland in Canada.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Dawood family in Pakistan said: “Our son Shahzada Dawood and his son, Suleman, had embarked on a journey to visit the remnants of the Titanic in the Atlantic Ocean. As of now, contact has been lost with their submersible craft and there is limited information available.”

Shahzada Dawood net worth

The estimated net worth of Shahzada Dawood is $350 million. He is the vice chairman of the Dawood Hercules Corporation, which is part of the Dawood Group. The company makes chemicals. He is a UK-based board member of the Prince’s Trust charity. He is also a trustee member of the Seti Institute, a research organization in California, according to its website.

He is also the Vice Chairman of Engro Corporation. The company produces fertilizers, food, and energy.

Shahzada lives with his wife, Christine, in a Surrey mansion. They have strong links to the United Kingdom. Christine is a life coach, and they have two children together, Suleman and Alina. The Dawood family was in Canada for a month before the submersible went missing.

In their statement, Shahzada’s parents said: “We are very grateful for the concern being shown by our colleagues and friends and would like to request everyone to pray for their safety.”
