The man suspected of killing five people and then himself in a mass shooting incident at Plymouth, UK on Thursday was reportedly an incel and supported former US President Donald Trump. Recognized by police as Jake Davison, the 22-year-old went on a six-minute rampage and caused the country’s first mass shooting in a decade.
Davison killed his mom, Maxine Davison, a 3-year-old girl named Sophie Martyn, the girl’s father, Lee Martyn, as well as two bystanders who were identified as Stephen Washington and Kate Shepherd.

As reported by the Guardian, Davison expressed his admiration for Donald Trump on Facebook and posted multiple self-pitying YouTube videos. He identified himself as part of the incel community. An incel is a member of an online community of young men who consider themselves unable to attract women sexually, typically associated with views that are hostile towards women and men who are sexually active. On his Facebook page, Davison claimed to be from Arizona.
Davison’s mother disapproved of her son’s misogynistic views, and the two clashed frequently, an acquaintance told The Telegraph. The son also beat up his father a couple of months ago, another source said. Davison urgently needed mental health treatment but wasn’t able to get help in time, a family friend reportedly wrote on Facebook.

“The NHS basically said they are short-staffed and that was it. The family even asked the police to come out to see him… they didn’t do a welfare check. And now six people are dead,” the friend wrote.
He used Reddit to share hate-filled views, the Guardian says. Reportedly, his Reddit posts are filled with hatred for his mother, whom he described as “my vile dysfunctional chaotic mother”. He also rants in general against single mothers.
“Luckly i got PIP money because i legit have autism which i should have taken from my mother at 18 years old really but like an idiot she manipulated and guilt tripped me in lettering her have it until at 22 i decided enough is enough and i took it from her,” he wrote a month ago.
His social media posts for 2018 suggest he was a fan of Donald Trump and a supporter of the UK Libertarian party.

“In America we do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone but rather to let it shine as an example for everyone to want,” he posted a quote.
Last month on Reddit, he wrote that “Mass shootings are new phenomena that cannot be directly blamed on guns.”
“I’m not very social and naturally quite asocial so I don’t have big social circles where I know I can meet girls,” he said in another post.
