The current pandemic cannot stop you from making these amazing sweet dishes for Eid Al-Fitr. The day stands for expressing gratitude to the almighty Allah for all that we are have. People cook different dishes on this day to celebrate the holy festival. Considering the current situation Eid Al-Fitr will be celebrated on May 14.

Here are some of the famous traditional sweets that you can try:

1. Sheer Khurma, India:

The warm, sweet vermicelli milk known as sevia is popular during Eid. It is a delectable and nutritious mix of sewai, dates, and milk. This rich and creamy sheer khurma tastes best when it is slow-cooked. The dish is very popular in Hyderabad, where it is consumed first thing in the morning.

2. Baklava, Arab:

Baklava is a crunchy dessert made across the Arab world. It is made of layers of filo pastry laced with butter and chopped pistachios mixed with other nuts. The pastries are soaked in a rose flavored sugar syrup and offered up on tables.

3. Eid biscuits, Lebanon :

Eid biscuits are essential during the “Sweet Eid” celebrations. They are baked in different styles, stuffed with either pine nuts or almonds. In Egypt, they are known as kahk — the exterior is powdered with sugar or with common fillings like walnuts etc.

4. Lokum, Turkey

Lokum is a family of confections based on a gel of starch and sugar. Premium varieties consist largely of chopped dates, pistachios, hazelnuts, or walnuts bound by the gel, they are often flavoured with rosewater, mastic, bergamot orange, or lemon.
