Kane Williamson’s New Zealand is all set to face Aaron Finch’s Australia in the T20 World Cup 2021 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

New Zealand, one of cricket’s perennial underdogs, will be making their third appearance in the final. While the Kiwis did not win an ICC trophy when they beat India in the World Test Championship final in Southampton earlier this year, they did reach the final of the 2019 Cricket World Cup, where they suffered that heartbreaking loss to England. Devon Conway will miss the summit clash after suffering a hand injury in the semi-final against England.

Meanwhile, Australia will be playing in their second T20 World Cup final, after losing to England in the 2010 final in the West Indies.

The form of Adam Zampa, who has been a key figure for the Australians this season, is a huge boost. Not only does he have 12 wickets  (second-most in the tournament), but he also has the best bowling figures of 5/19.

Only once have the two teams met in the T20 World Cup, in a Super 10 game in Dharamsala in 2016, when Mitchell McClenaghan and Corey Anderson shared five wickets between them to restrict Australia to 134/9 while chasing 142.
