TikTokers in the United States have joined the revolt against Texas’ anti-abortion law the Supreme Court let pass by a 5-4 vote. The law  gives any individual the right to sue doctors who perform an abortion past the six-week point. Proposed by Right wing groups, it is seen as a major curb to the constitutional right to an abortion in decades.

After the law faced a mass revolt in Texas and other states, a Bellaire-based organisation ‘Texas Right To Life’ urged citizens to submit – on its website – anonymous tips to help enforce the state’s new anti-abortion law that eliminates the terms of Roe v Wade, 1973.

However, some TikTokers turned ‘whistleblowers’ and flooded the Right wing organisation’s website – prolifewhistleblower.com – with random Shrek porn and memes. The access to the website has been limited by the site owner, hence pictures and screenshots could not be obtained. The group also posted false information, as per reports.

Shrek, a cartoon, is an anti-social and highly-territorial green ogre who loves the solitude of his swamp.

This effort by the TikTokers was led by Gen Zers Victoria Hammett and Olivia Julianna, as per NBC reports. They felt appalled by the legislation, which forbids abortions once cardiac activity is detected, which is usually around six weeks of pregnancy. Courts have blocked other states from imposing similar restrictions, but Texas’ law differs significantly because it leaves enforcement up to private citizens through civil lawsuits instead of criminal prosecutors.

“Texas has anonymously set up a system where you can report people who have gotten abortions. Wouldn’t it be so awful if we send in a bunch of fake tips and crashed the site? Like, ‘Greg Abbott’s butt stinks,'” Hammett said in a TikTok video on August 23. It has been watched more than 850,000 times.

“I found out about this website and thought, ‘We have to do whatever we can if they’re going to use the internet against us — the very people who were raised on the internet,'” Julianna, 18, a native Texan, said.

Talking about the reaction Hammett, as per reports, added, “The reaction has been amazing because people have felt really lost in regards to this anti-abortion legislation, and this was just one way of fighting back against this new law.”
