A heartwarming video on Instagram of a toddler trying to interpret for her hearing-impaired dad could leave you with a lump in your throat. The video is posted on the Instagram page oursignedworld, which contains videos of Courtney, Zachary, and Madison, all members of a family.

“Our family uses sign language to communicate,” reads the bio on the page. While Courtney and Madison are hearing, Zachary is deaf.

The caption posted with the video reads, “This was a WOW moment!”. The clip starts to show the father shopping with his daughter.

Zachary and Madison can be seen walking through a supermarket when she suddenly drops what she’s holding. She then signals to her dad to tell him that she can hear a baby crying and points in the direction of the baby. Zachary repeats Madison’s gesture, asking her, “Baby crying?” as she crouches to pick up the sponges she has dropped.

“She dropped what was in her hands, signalled ‘baby crying’, and pointed! This was a WOW moment,” the dad wrote.

The video was shared on November 11. Since being posted, it has received more than 8.3 lakh views and 57,000 likes on Instagram and the numbers are increasing. The clip has also received emotionally charged comments.

Zachary and his wife Courtney have posted a few more videos of their 19-month-old baby. In one she is telling her dad through signs that she has pooped. And in another, she is telling her mom ‘I love you’.

Zachary and Courtney are teaching their daughter simultaneously how to speak and use sign language.
