With the world battling the coronavirus pandemic, people at a quarantine centre in Assam are keeping their spirits high by singing and dancing. A video on social media surfaced from a quarantine centre in Assam’s Dibrugarh where COVID-19 patients were seen dancing and singing together.
In the video, which was posted by news agency ANI, a man is seen playing flute while five to six others enjoy the light environment. All the other men at the quarantine centre later joined in the dance with one of the patients taking the centre stage.
Assam is struggling with the coronavirus pandemic and the floods at the same time. The state has recorded nearly 27,000 cases of coronavirus of which more than 18,000 are active cases. 64 people have died in the state due to the COVID-19 infection while nearly 9,000 have recovered.
The north-eastern state is also facing one of its worst floods due to heavy rainfall. Over 55 lakh people have been displaced in the states and more than 85 have died. The floods have also killed over 100 animals at the National Kaziranga National Park.
