Thanks to a thunderous strike from Borussia Dortmund winger Thorgan Hazard, Belgium are leading 1-0 against Portugal at halftime in the Round of 16 of Euro 2020 at Seville.

In a match that was being played out as a chess match with the two teams feeling each other out, Belgium struck first when in the 42nd minute, Thorgan Hazard steered home a layoff from fullback Thomas Meunier past Portugal’s Rui Patricio.

Going into the second half, the defending champions are trailing and Cristiano Ronaldo and co. will need to deliver an incredible performance if they are to go through.

Fernando Santos started the match with a more conventional 4-3-3 with Diogo Jota and Bernardo Silva providing the width while Cristiano Ronaldo will act as the central figure in the attack. Meanwhile, Belgium stuck to their reliable 3-4-3 formation.
