The 154th running of the Belmont Stakes, which is the oldest and longest of the three classic horse races in American horse racing- that constitute the “Triple Crown”, takes place tonight.

This grueling 1.5-mile-long race which first ran in 1867 has also become widely known as the “Test of Champions” as it tests the speed and endurance of three-year-old thoroughbreds like no other race in the American calendar, and also sees a field of competition in which only the best remain to compete, as the rest have been weeded out in prior rounds.

This season, while the Triple Crown isn’t up for grabs, the winner of the Kentucky Derby- which is perhaps the most celebrated horse racing event in the world- Rich Strike is competing this year as one of the favourites, and the grid possesses other challengers like We The People, Mo Donegal and Creative Minister. It’s needless to say then, that there’s plenty of jeopardy to this event, both from a betting perspective as well as an entertaining one!

For the horse racing aficionados in India, we have put together all you need to know on when and where to follow the action live-

The Belmont Stakes is being held today, Saturday 11th June at approximately 6:50 p.m. ET, which means Indians will have to tune in at 4:20 a.m. to catch the action.

Unfortunately, this race is not being telecast anywhere on Indian channels or streaming platforms. However, that doesn’t mean that you have to miss out- as NBC provides comprehensive race coverage on TV as well as at nbcsports.com and Peacock streaming service, the latter two of which can be accessed by Indian viewers using a VPN service. Peacock is available for a price of $4.99. You can also watch it on FuboTV, once again with the help of a VPN. We suggest using an established VPN service, like ExpressVPN, which offers a 100 percent risk-free money-back guarantee, in case you’re not happy with the services. But, hopefully, with the blessings of the racing Gods, you shall be!
