Pakistani politician, columnist and television host Aamir Liaquat Hussain died Thursday in Karachi, Pakistan, at the age of 49.

The former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker was found unconscious at his home in Khudad Colony. He was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. He was later declared dead by doctors.

The police said the body will be shifted to Jinnah Hospital or Civil Hospital for an autopsy.

Hussain was born on July 5 1971 in Karachi to politician Sheikh Liaquat Hussain and columnist Mahmooda Sultana.

Hussain married thrice. With his first wife Syeda Bushra Iqbal, he has two children – a son and a daughter. In June 2018, he confirmed his second marriage to Syeda Tuba Anwar. This marriage lasted for around three years. In February 2022, Amir got married to 18 years old Syeda Dania Shah. In May 2022, his third wife Syeda Dania Shah filed for divorce, after three months of marriage.

Last year, Bushra Iqbal opened up about her divorce for the first time. She revealed that Hussain divorced her over the phone, according to Daily Jang Pakistan.

She described it as “the most painful, traumatic thing” for her and their children.”

In an Instagram post in 2020, Bushra said it was time to bring about some clarity to her relationship.

“Salam. I think its I bring about some clarity regarding my relationship with my ex-husband Aamir Liaquat.”

“However, divorcing me is one thing, but doing it in front of Tuba on call at her request, was perhaps the most painful and traumatic thing for my children and I,” she said, adding: “I rest my case to Allah.”

Liaquat married 28-year-old media executive Anwar in 2018. In 2021, rumors surfaced that the TV host had married Haniya Khan, who claimed to be his wife. Later, in an Instagram video, he dismissed the rumors saying: “I only have one marriage, which is with Tuba.”

Earlier this year, Anwar took to social media to announce her divorce.

“With a heavy heart I want to make people aware of a development in my life,” she said. “My close family and friends are aware that after a separation of 14 months, it was evident that there was no hope for reconciliation in sight and I had to opt to take khula from court.”

Just few weeks ago, Liaquat and his third wife are ending their marriage within months of tying the knot. Reports surfaced that  Dania accused him of “vile acts” and termed it a reason behind filing a divorce.
