According to his electoral campaign website, Herbster was born and brought up in Nebraska’s Falls City and has “planted roots in the Nebraska soil like the crops that made him prosperous.”

He worked on his native farms along with his family in his early years. While it is unclear where Charles Herbster got his education from, he did start business ventures with his late wife Judy Herbster.

The couple bought the Conklin Company in 1994, and have since expanded the business to all corners of America. Herbster is also currently the CEO and President of Carico Farms and Herbster Angus Farms, his website said.

Herbster’s official website claims that “in 2015, President Donald J. Trump appointed Charles as the Chairman of the Agriculture and Rural Advisory Committee.” Notably, Trump took over the Oval Office in January 2017.

Sexual misconduct allegations faced by Herbster

Charles Herbster has recently faced allegations that he groped young women, including a Nebraska state senator and a former legislative staffer, according to reports from Associated Press.

He vehemently denies the accusations and has filed a defamation lawsuit against the lawmaker, state Senator Julie Slama. She filed a countersuit, accusing Herbster of sexual battery. Despite the allegations, former President Trump has stood by Herbster and appeared with him at a rally in early May 2022.
