American musician David Warren Ellefson is the co-founder of the heavy metal band Megadeth and was the bassist for the group till May 2021, before he was fired on Tuesday following the emergence of sexual misconduct allegations.
Born on November 12, 1964, Ellefson was the only constant member of Megadeth, other than co-founder Dave Mustaine, from the time of their establishment in 1983 to the group’s dissolution in 2002.

Subsequently, Ellefson and Mustaine had a feud after the breakup of the band and severe legal disagreement over royalties and rights to Megadeth’s name. Ellefson even ended up filing an unsuccessful lawsuit.
However, in 2010, Ellefson rejoined the group and was a part of it until the latest controversy.
Two weeks ago, several leaked messages and videos of Ellefson emerged featuring a woman, who is not his wife.

Earlier in the month, sexually tinged messages and explicit video footage, allegedly, involving Ellefson were posted on Twitter.
However, soon after the emergence of the videos, the longtime Megadeth member later released a statement on his official Instagram handle, which is private, denying all social media chatter that he “groomed” an underage fan.
The statement from Ellefson was backed up by a screenshot of a social media post from the woman in question, who denied any suggestions that she was underage at the time of the interaction.
