A shooting at Wazirabad during a rally of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has left the 70-year-old injured. He has reportedly been shot three to four times in his leg. Along with Khan, Faisal Javed Khan, a member of the Pakistan Senate and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader, has also sustained injuries.

Former Sindh governor Imran Ismail has also been injured.

Who is Faisal Javed Khan?

Faisal Javed Khan has been a member of the Senate of Pakistan from 2018. He joined PTI in 1996 and had campaigned for the party during the 1997, 2002, 2013 and 2018 elections.

Khan worked in the field of advertising and media for 17 years before joining politics. He became a member of the Senate in 2018 and his tenure is set to end in 2024. 

According to the official website of the Pakistan Senate,  “He has also served the party as Additional Secretary Information, Head of Electronic Media Operations, and Secretary Social Media. Faisal has represented PTI across different local and intl media outlets and conferences.”

He is popularly known as the “Voice of PTI” and has also had the experience of speaking at the European Parliament. In the 2018 Senate elections of Pakistan, Faisal Javed Khan won the seat representing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He took his oath on March 12, 2018.

He is the Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting. Khan is also on the committees Climate Change, Defense, Inter-Provincial Coordination, and Foreign Affairs. Faisal Khan is the most followed Pakistani Senator on Twitter.

When Imran Khan held a rally in downtown Washington DC in 2019, Faisal Javed Khan was its moderator. 

After the November 3 attack on the PTI rally, a picture of Faisal Khan covered in blood had been doing the rounds on social media.
