On Boxing Day, footballer Cody Fisher was fatally stabbed on the dance floor of a nightclub. In a tribute, the footballer’s girlfriend wrote, “You didn’t deserve any of this.”
Fisher, 23, was on a night out with friends at the Crane club in Digbeth, Birmingham, when, just before midnight, he was attacked with a knife by a group of people.

Jess Chatwin was Cody Fisher’s girlfriend. After Fisher, 23, was fatally stabbed on the dance floor of a Birmingham nightclub on December 26, 2022, Chatwin said he was her “whole world” and that she “didn’t know how she was going to do life without him.”
“My poor baby. I’m so sorry this has happened to you. My whole world, the love of my life, my best friend has been taken away from me. I don’t know how I’m going to do life without you Code. There is so much we will never get the chance to do now. This doesn’t feel real. I love you forever Cody Fisher,” Chatwin wrote on social media.
In a separate Instagram story post, she shared a photo of the two out for drinks before Fisher’s tragic death.

“My baby’s smile. How can you take him away? It was meant to be us forever.”
Defender Fisher, who has played for a variety of football clubs – most notably Stratford Town FC – also left behind saddened family members and friends who hailed him as “the purest soul” and a “wonderful boy”, as per Daily Star UK.

Just before 11.45 p.m. on Boxing Day, police were called to The Crane nightclub in Digbeth, Birmingham, to reports of a man being stabbed. Fisher was “approached by a gang of people,” according to authorities, before being knifed on the dancefloor.
According to reports, the DJ stopped playing and a warning message was displayed on giant screens across the club. Despite medical staff’s best efforts, the man was pronounced dead roughly 30 minutes after the police were contacted. Police are now appealing to the public for any information that may assist their investigation.
