The identity of a lady posing as Madeleine McCann has come under scrutiny after she made a number of assertions in an effort to get the attention of concerned authorities so they would test her DNA. This is especially true given the ambiguity surrounding her last name and the family to which she currently belongs.

According to media reports, Julia Faustyna—also known as Julia Wendell and Julia Wandelt—began uploading videos and images of herself online while expressing the possibility that she might be Kate and Gerry McCann’s missing daughter, who vanished in Portugal in May 2007 at the age of three.

The family of Madeleine McCann is said to have asked for a DNA test for Wandelt after she gained notoriety on social media for claiming to resemble her parents and to share Madeleine’s freckle on her thigh and speck in her eye. According to reports, the McCann family is open to following any leads in the hunt for Madeleine, who vanished from her family’s residence in Portugal in 2007.

Who is Julia Wandelt?

Julia Wandelt is a 21-year-old Polish woman, who has recently claimed to be Madeleine McCann, a British girl who went missing in 2007 while on vacation with her family in Portugal. Several sources and social media debates refer to her as “Julia Faustyna,” but other sources have also called her Julia Wendell and Julia Wandelt.

She gained media attention after opening an Instagram account with the handle @iammadeleinemccann and claiming to have a freckle on her leg and a speck in her eye in the same places as Madeleine, as well as resembling Madeleine’s parents.

She claims that after hearing something from her grandmother, she began to question her identity a few months ago. She claims to be 21, but she believes her age is incorrect.

Madeleine was born in May 2003, so she would be 19 years old right now. Julia states in her Instagram bio that she believes she is Madeleine and that she needs a DNA test to confirm her identity.

Madeleine McCann, a 3-year-old British girl, went missing while on vacation with her family in Praia da Luz, Portugal, on the evening of May 3, 2007. She was staying in a vacation apartment with her siblings while her parents ate at a nearby restaurant. Madeleine had gone missing when her mother checked on her later that evening.

The disappearance of Madeleine McCann triggered an international investigation, with Portuguese authorities leading the initial investigation. The missing girl, however, was never found, and the case remains unsolved to this day. The McCann family has kept looking for Madeleine and has collaborated with various organizations to raise awareness and funds for her search.

Over the years, there have been various leads and suspects in the case, but none have led to a breakthrough. The British police started a brand-new investigation in 2013 called Operation Grange, which is still active today. Madeleine McCann’s whereabouts are still unknown despite massive searches and investigations, and her case continues to be one of the most well-known missing person cases in history.
