Who is Karin Journo?

Karin Journo, a 24-year-old French-Israeli, found herself in an unexpected and tragic turn of events that forever altered her life. She had recently experienced a fracture in her leg, which initially led her to make the difficult decision of declining an invitation to the Tribe of Nova music festival on Saturday, October 7, and even selling her ticket. Her choice initially seemed content and rational given her physical condition.

However, one week before the event, a sudden change of heart led to a decision that would have profound consequences. This change would ultimately link her to a tragic moment in Israel’s history.

On that fateful morning, as approximately 3,500 young Israelis gathered at the festival venue, filled with the anticipation of a joyous night of electronic music to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, little did they know that their night would take a horrifying turn. Dozens of Hamas terrorists had managed to breach Israel’s heavily fortified separation fence, crossing over from Gaza into Israeli territory. In their wake, they unleashed gunfire upon the unsuspecting crowd, plunging the celebration into chaos and terror.
