Hamas terrorists have released a video showing 21-year-old hostage Mia Shem, who was abducted amid Israel’s attacks, seeking her return.

Who is Mia Shem?

Mia Shem, a 21-year-old resident of Shoham, Israel, is among the 200–250 individuals that Hamas is allegedly holding captive in a number of covert locations throughout the Gaza Strip.

A video broadcast on Hamas’ Telegram channel has drawn attention to the situation of Mia Shem, 21, who was kidnapped amid continued Israeli assaults. Shem is shown in the video with her arm bandaged, receiving medical attention, and directly addressing the camera.

In the video, Mia could be seen saying, “I am a prisoner in Gaza and they treated me and performed a surgery on me that took 3 hours, and everything is fine, and I only ask that you return me home as soon as possible, return me to my family, please get us out of here as soon as possible.”

She tells viewers that her hand was wounded and that Hamas treated her at a Gaza hospital. Mia Shem recognizes that the organization has been caring for her and providing her with medication. She communicates calmly her wish to be reunited with her family and to return home as soon as possible.

However, the authenticity of Shem’s confession has been called into question online, with some thinking that her statements were coerced by her captors. Concerns have been raised about the way in which she delivers her message, raising the possibility that she is not speaking freely.

Mia Shem’s mother had been looking for her daughter since she was kidnapped a week ago. Online, desperate cries for help were made, but no substantial information had appeared throughout this time. The precise date of the video’s recording is unknown.
