Mike Williams scored his first touchdown of the 2022 NFL Season against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. He received the touchdown as a result of a pass from QB Justin Herbert. He also achieved the feat of most touchdowns by a visiting player at Chief’s home stadium, with 7.

Who is Mike Williams?

Michael K. Williams is a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League in the United States of America

Williams played college football at Clemson before being drafted by the Chargers as the seventh overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

The Chargers wide receiver, who has been a problem for defenses in the 2021 season so far, 60 receptions for 1,395 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior on  Lake Marion High School’s football team.

At Clemson, he played a total of 38 games with 177 receptions, 2,727 receiving yards and 21 receiving touchdowns. 

Williams decided to enter the 2017 NFL Draft after Clemson defeated  Alabama 35–31 for the national championship in January 2017.

Williams’ first game with at least 100 receiving yards came in the 2019 season against the Green Bay Packers in Week 9.

He followed up that performance with catching five passes for 117 yards against the Denver Broncos in Week 13.

Williams recorded 49 receptions for 1,001 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns in 2019.

In the 2020 season, Williams recorded his first career interception off a pass thrown by Drew Lock against the Chargers to secure a 19–16 win for the Chargers.

Williams, so far has 31 receptions, 471 receiving yards and a total of six receiving touchdowns through the first five weeks of the 2021 season.

Williams showed up on the Chargers’ injury reports earlier this week, meaning his status for the Week 6 clash is unclear.

He didn’t practice with the team on Wednesday and Thursday after suffering a knee injury following the Week 5 clash.

Coach Brandon Staley said Williams’ knee had some swelling after last Sunday’s 47-42 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Him missing out on Week 6 will have an impact on his fantasy status but if he shows up and performs, then it’s on!
