Palestinian political leader Mustafa Barghouti charged President Joe Biden on Wednesday morning of having accepted the Israeli government’s “lies” regarding the party accountable for Tuesday’s catastrophic hospital explosion in Gaza, implying that this was done with a view toward reelection.
During their Wednesday afternoon meeting in Tel Aviv, Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that it “looks as though it was done by the other team, not you.” Barghouti blasted Biden for making such remarks.

He said, “You know, with all due respect, I see that President Biden cares only about one thing, which is to be re-elected and that’s why he’s taking the side of Israel.”
IDF denied all the claims that the explosion was triggered by an Israeli missile, which instead blamed a misfired rocket from the terrorist organization Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Who is Mustafa Barghouti?
Mustafa Barghouti is a politician, activist, and physician from Palestine. In addition to belonging to the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Central Council, he has been a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council since 2006. As the Minister of Information in the Palestinian unity government in 2007, Barghouti served.

He was one of the founding members of the non-governmental organization Palestinian Medical Relief Committees, which offers community and health services to residents of the Occupied Territories. In addition, he serves as the director of the Health Development Information and Policy Institute, a separate think tank with its headquarters in Ramallah that plans and conducts policy research for the West Bank and Gaza Strip’s Palestinian healthcare system.
He is a fervent supporter of Palestinian rights and a vociferous opponent of the Israeli occupation. Although he has maintained that the Palestinian people have the right to use all available methods to fight the occupation, he is a proponent of the two-state solution.
