Vincent Jeanbrun, a prominent figure in French politics and the mayor of a district in Paris, recently found his family in the midst of a shocking attack.
While he was away, his wife Melanie Nowak and their two young children faced danger and injury as assailants targeted their home, exacerbating the ongoing tensions during a period of unrest in France.
In the early hours of the morning, the attackers struck, not only targeting the mayor’s residence but also setting their family car on fire. Melanie Nowak, Vincent Jeanbrun’s wife, suffered a broken leg, while one of their children was also injured. As the family attempted to escape, the assailants launched mortar fireworks, intensifying the danger they faced.

Taking to social media, Mayor Jeanbrun shared his firsthand account of the incident. While he was fulfilling his duties at the town hall, as he had done for the previous nights, his home was attacked.
He described how the assailants forcefully entered the house and set it ablaze, endangering the lives of his wife and two young children. The brave attempts to shield and flee from the attackers resulted in injuries to his wife and one of their children.
The attack on Mayor Jeanbrun’s residence adds to the growing violence that has unfolded in France following a police shooting incident in Nanterre. The country has experienced several nights of widespread urban unrest, leading to a substantial number of arrests and a massive deployment of police forces to regain control.

The attempted attack on the mayor’s house and the harm inflicted upon his family have further intensified tensions throughout the country. Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne strongly condemned the incident, labeling it as intolerable and emphasizing the urgency to restore peace and security.
