The body of Abby Choi, a model and influencer from Hong Kong, China, was found in pots of soup at a home on Friday. In connection with her chilling death, her ex-husband, his elder brother and parents were arrested.

Along with ‘soup pots with human tissue’, her legs were found stuffed in a refrigerator, the South China Morning Post reports. It adds that her head and torso have not yet been recovered. Choi’s death was related to a feud of millions of Hong Kong dollars between her and the family members of her ex-husband.

Who was Abby Choi?

Abby Choi, 28, was a model from Hong Kong, China. She worked with big names like Vogue China and Celia Kritharioti.

Shortly before her murder, she appeared on the cover page of L’Officiel Monaco magazine. She was missing since Tuesday and the police received a missing persons report the next day. A city-wide manhunt was launched for her husband, per SCMP, while other members of his family were immediately arrested.

Her dismembered body was found in pots of soup at a home in a village near Hong Kong. Based on the description of the house provided by the officers, it appears that a full-fledged human butchering was going on there. SCMP reports quoting officers that “a meat grinder” and an “electric saw” were recovered at the location.

‘Someone was dissatisfied with how the victim handled her assets, which became a motive to kill,’ Police superintendent Alan Chung Nga-Iun said to The Daily Mail. “We are still looking for the head, the torso, and hands, which we believed were disposed of.”
