Emma Pattison, her 39-year-old husband George, and their 7-year-old daughter Lettie were all discovered dead at their home on the Epsom College campus.

Who was Emma Pattison?

Born in 1988, Emma Pattison was a teacher by profession living in the United Kingdom.

Pattison led Croydon High School for six years before taking the helm at Epsom College in September 2022. According to the school’s website, she was the first woman to hold the position of head of the institution, which is currently the Independent School of the Year.

“I am delighted and honored to have been appointed head of Epsom College. It is a school I have long admired, with an enviable reputation, and George and I can’t wait to meet the pupils, parents, and staff and to become part of this wonderful community. It is our intention to make our home and our school equally as welcoming in the months and years to come,” Pattinson upon appointment.

According to Companies House, her husband George was a chartered accountant and the director of a management consulting company named Tanglewood in 2016.

“It has been a really big change for my family. So we’ve obviously moved house. We’ve bought a dog. I’ve got a new job my husband has got a new job which wasn’t meant to happen, but it did and my daughter has started a new school. So there’s been a lot of change for us as a family but it’s been wonderful,” Pattison said on a podcast as per Sky News.

More than 850 students are now enrolled at the 1855-founded school. For girls and boys aged 11 to 18, it offers boarding and day schooling. Boarding tuition can reach £42,000 a year, and Paul Williams has been named as the acting head. The college touts kindness, ambition, and honesty as its core characteristics on its website and was named Independent School of the Year in October 2022.
