A gender reveal party in Sinaloa, Mexico turned into a disaster when a stunt plane crashed in front of the attendees at the party on Saturday.

In a video posted to X (formerly Twitter), the unidentified couple could be seen holding each other’s hands in front of a giant celebratory sign reading “Oh Baby” as they were surrounded by friends and family. Even after the stunt plane fell out of the sky, the partygoers seemed totally unaware of the situation unfolding in the sky.

In the video, filmed by an attendee, as the small plane approached, it released pink smoke to signify that the couple were having a girl.

The tragic video has since gone viral and sparked a hot debate around gender reveals. “These gender reveal parties are getting out of hand when people die annually because of them,” one X user wrote.

“The way the camera panned back to the couple with not the slightest care in the world for the pilot is sad,” commented one disgusted user.

“For a moment I actually thought all the screaming was because they saw the plane,” stated a third. “But no, it looks and sounds like only the cameraman noticed (at least initially).”

Who was Luis Angel N?

Luis Angel N is the 32-year-old pilot of the doomed plane that was used to carry out the gender reveal. The left wing of the Piper PA-25-235 Pawnee gave way as Angel pulled the small plane upward, which sent the aircraft spiraling out of control.

After a concerned partygoer called for help, authorities found the pilot lying in the wreckage of the plane. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital, where he died.

Not much else is known about the pilot.
