A Brazilian model and nightclub owner, identified as Thaís Rocha Secundino, was found dead with 11 stab wounds in Sao Paulo.

The incident came to light when the woman’s body was found in her jeep on February 3. Police launched a homicide investigation after the discovery.

According to authorities, the woman had multiple stab wounds to her neck, abdomen and back. Police suspect that a knife was used to stab her, however, the murder weapon has yet to be recovered.

Police spokeswoman Ivalda Aleixo told local media investigators believe Secundino was killed “over issues involving alleged embezzlement” of her businesses.

“The victim’s boyfriend said Thaís had gone to meet her friend to get an explanation from her, but then she didn’t return home,” explained Aleixo. “They deny the crime, but there are strong indications that they took part in the businesswoman’s murder.

Two suspects – her 45-year-old male driver, Leandro Aparecido Dos Santos, and Cintia Maria Feliciano Peixe, 31, one of the victim’s best friends – have been apprehended. According to Jam Press, the two suspects will be temporarily detained for 30 days due to the “heinous” nature of the crime.

Police have also seized the victim’s car along with the suspects’ phones for further investigation. Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage from near the crime scene.

Thaís Rocha Secundino was a 28-year-old Brazilian model and nightclub owner. She had several businesses including owning wine cellars.

Secundino was very active on Instagram where she frequently posted her bikini photos. Her final post was two weeks ago, where she wrote: “The light that guides me is much stronger than the eyes that surround me.”
