A woman called Cicely took to Tiktok to post a video about her journey with eye lash extensions. The video started with the excitement of getting the lashes and ended with a horrific scene of her in the hospital bed, due to an allergic reaction.

Many beauty fans are cancelling their eyelash extension appointments after seeing the video.

“Found out I had a new allergy yesterday,” Cicely wrote in the video, after which she added the unbelievable pics of her with swollen eyes, just 10 hours after her eyelashes were first applied.

The video received mixed reactions with some admitting to a similar experience, and others reconsidering their choice of getting an eyelash extension in the near future.

“Omfgggg,” one woman wrote. “I have an appointment next week for the first time… cancelling after seeing this.”

Another wrote, “Lord f**k. Hope you’re on the mend now girl.”

“Stoppppp, is this a sign??,” added another individual.

A woman commented, “I have my first ever lash extension appointment on the 5th. Now I’m scared that I should stick to the stick on ones.”

“I cannot fathom why tt (TikTok) would show me this the day before my first appt,” was another reaction to the video.

Some individuals shared their similar personal experience in the comment section. One person said, “Same exact thing happened to me after having lashes for 3 years.” While another added, “I did them for years and then suddenly was severely allergic. I looked the same.”

However, it still remains unclear whether the allergic reaction took place because of the lashes itself or the glue with which they were stuck.

In another video, a person asked Cicely whether or not the reaction to her lashes was painful, to which she replied, “The initial reaction itself was not very painful. My eyes swelled, my throat swelled, I was covered in hives and it became very very difficult to breathe. The only part that actually was really painful was the removal of the eyelashes, where they were constantly scraping with gauze and this lubricant stuff.”

She concluded by saying, “I got my sight back within three or four hours. So overall, not bad.”

Despite her experience, Cicely claims that she loved the lashes while they were on and would never tell others not to have them done.
