Smriti Mandhana’s Trailblazers lift the Women’s T20 Challenge trophy for the first time. A fine performance from all the bowlers in the pink restricted the Supernovas to a mere 102-7 in 20 overs. Lead by Salma Khatun’s 3/18 in her quota, Jhulan Goswami, Sophie Ecclestone and Deepti Sharma just stayed disciplined throughout the match. For the Supernovas, it was Harmanpreet Kaur who was the only ray of hope and when the skipper fell to Khatun, the innings went all dominos. Kaur scored 30 runs off 36 deliveries.
Earlier, it was a magnificent show by Smriti Mandhana that got overshadowed by a young Radha Yadav who became the first bowler to register a fifer in the T20 challenge. The Trailblazers skipper played a fine 68 run knock to lead the way.
