Japan held the state funeral of former PM Shinzo Abe on Tuesday. U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, among dozens of foreign dignitaries and 4.300 attendees, sat in the third row, next to Rahm Emanuel, the U.S. ambassador to Japan. Indian PM Narendra Modi was also present at the event.
Abe was shot dead earlier this year while making a campaign speech in the southern Japanese city of Nara. India had announced a one-day national mourning on July 9.
The Japanese Imperial House representatives presented prayers and tributes. Several family members, including Crown Prince Fumihito and Crown Princess Kiko were present at the funeral.
