World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in an SEC filing on Monday said that it plans to restate some of its finances going back to 2019 and record the expenses made by former CEO Vince McMahon, who stepped down last week amid allegations of misconduct.

The expenses total to $14.6 million, WWE stated and were made over the course of 16 years, starting 2006. McMahon has been accused of paying more than $12 million to suppress allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Vince McMahon transformed WWE, taking its annual revenue to more than $1 billion. The 76-year-old bought the company from his father in 1982.

He retired from WWE areound five weeks after he said he would be stepping down as the company’s chairman and CEO. An investigation opened into allgeations that he paid millions in hush money.

WWE said it would revise financial statements for the years ended 2019, 2020 and 2021, as well as the first quarter of 2022. 

The company, in the SEC filing, said that it “has made a preliminary determination that certain payments that Vince McMahon agreed to make during the period from 2006 through 2022 (including amounts paid and payable in the future), and that were not recorded in the WWE consolidated financial statements, should have been recorded as expenses in the quarters in which those agreements were made.”

WWE added that those payments will be paid by McMahon personally. It added that while those were not material in any individual period, the aggregate amount of $14.6 million “would be material if recorded entirely in the second quarter of 2022.”

McMahon’s daughter Stephanie became the co-CEO along with Nick Khan. Vince’s son-in-law Paul Levesque was named the creative head of WWE.
