Gold, silver and other metal prices on Monday, January 10, 2022

  • Gold futures were trading at Rs 47362.00 per 10 gm, down 90 points or 0.19%
  • Silver futures were trading at Rs 60360.00 per kg, down 247 points or 0.41%
  • Platinum was trading at $955.50 while palladium was trading at $1,926.00

Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) decreased marginally on Monday, January 10, 2022. Gold futures were trading at Rs 47362.00 per 10 gm, down 90 points or 0.19%, in the Indian market. Silver futures were trading at Rs 60360.00 per kg, down 247 points or 0.41%.

In global markets, gold was priced at $1,791.70 per oz. Platinum was trading at $955.50 while palladium was trading at $1,926.00.

In the spot market, the 22-carat gold was sold at Rs 46,440 per 10 grams while silver was priced at Rs 59,991 per kg on Friday according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association.  

In Delhi, the price of 24-carat gold stands at Rs 51,010, while in Mumbai it is at Rs 48,610, according to the Goodreturns website.

The price of 10 grams of 22-carat gold in Delhi and Mumbai is at Rs 46,760 and Rs 46,610, respectively.

In Chennai, 10 grams of 24-carat gold is selling at Rs 49,010 on Monday, while 10 grams of 22-carat gold is selling at Rs 44,930.

The price of 1 kg of silver in Chenna is at Rs 64,600 on Monday, while in Delhi and Mumbai, the metal is selling at Rs 60,700.

Silver is selling at Rs 60,700 per kg in Kolkata and Bengaluru, while in Hyderabad, the metal is selling at Rs 64,600 a kg.

Gold has struggled in the 2021 year after hitting a record high of Rs 56,200 in 2020 as the dollar strengthened on hopes of a swift economic recovery as Covid vaccination picked up the pace.

Global equity markets also retreated today as investors grew increasingly concerned about a growing energy crisis and spiking inflation.

Copper futures were trading at Rs 739.40 down 0.17% while Nickel and Aluminium futures were trading at Rs 1576.50 and Rs 233.35 per Kg respectively on MCX.
