Samsung Electronics has decided to close its sole TV factory in China, Reuters quoted Samsung’s spokesperson as saying. The TV factory in northeastern China’s Tianjin will close by November, the spokesperson said.

The factory in Tianjin currently has 300 workers, South Korea’s Yonhap news agency reported earlier today.

The decision is seen as the latest in a series of moves by the South Korean conglomerate to shift production from China.

Samsung, in a statement, said that the decision has been taken as a part of “ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency”, Reuters reported.

Other than the TV factory in Tianjin, Samsung has a home alliance factory at Suzhou in China’s coastal province of Jiangsu and chip production facilities in Suzhou and Xian in central China’s Shaanxi province.

Last month, Samsung announced that it will halt operations at its last computer factory in China.
